dsat technical courses

The DSAT Tec courses are designed as follows:

a. Tec 40 - Qualified to 40m air/nitrox allowing limited decompression with use of EANX of upto 50% in stage cylinder
b. Tec 45 - Qualified to 45m air/nitrox allowing decompression with use of EANX/O2 in one stage to accelerate decompression or add conservatism
c. Tec 50 - Qualified to 50m air/nitrox allowing decompression with use of EANX/O2 in two stages and plan dives using deco software.
d. Tec Trimix 65 - Qualified students to dive to 65m using various Tmx blends with an O2 content of 18% (Normoxic) or more TMx and using Eanx/ O2 to accelerate deco, using Open Circuit Tec Eqpt.
e. Tec Trimix Diver (75) - Qualified students to dive to 75m using various Trimix blends with an O2 content of less than 18% (hypoxic) and use /Eanx/ O2 to accelerate deco, using Open Circuit Tec Eqpt.

Each of these represents the max depth and each receives a cert card. All Prices include DSAT Pack (Manual/Tec Slates etc)

The only extras are gases. Also the full trimix student pack is included in TEC 40

TEC 40 Course consistes of following:

1. Pre-requisits:

a. PADI AOW or Equivalent
b. EANX Diver
c. PADI Deep Speciality or proof of 10 dives to 30m
d. 18 yrs old
e. 30 logged dives (10 with Eanx, 7 deeper than 30m)

2. Programme:

a. 4 dives

i. Dive 1 - Confined Water -Orientation to Twin Set and Stage cylinder - you will practice shut downs/emergency procedures etc
ii. Dives 2 and 3 are no deco dives but with simulated deco.
iii. Dive 4 will be a deco dive to 40m and going into 10 mins deco (you will use an actual deco cylinder containing upto Eanx 50%) for conservatism.

b. 3 Practical applications - to incl setting up Tec Rig and applications involving Gas Planning for deco dives/calculating gas reserves etc.
c. Knowledge development sessions and Tec 40 exam.

Cost - £503

TEC 45 Course consistes of following:

1. Pre-requisits:

a. Cert as Tec 40 Diver or equivalent qual from another organisation ( qualified to make deco dives to 40m using air and Eanx on Open circuit Scuba).
b. 18 yrs old.
c. 50 logged dives (12 deeper than 18 m using Eanx/ 6 deeper than 30m (with or without Eanx).

2. Programme:

a. 4 Dives:

1. Dive 1 - Confined Water -Revision on Twin Set and Stage procedures/shut downs/emergency procedures/gas switches etc
ii. Dives 2 - No deco dive but with simulated deco and practices skills in Dive 1.
iii. Dive3 - Simulated deco dive with 4 deco stops.
iv. Dive 4- Single gas deco dive to 45m, with gas switch for conservatism.

b. Tec 45 Exam
c. 3 practical applications and 2 knowledge developments

Timeframe 4 days (dependng on initial student skill level).

Cost - £400

TEC 50 Course consistes of following:

1. Pre-requisits:

a. Cert as Tec 45 Diver or equivalent qual from another organisation ( qualified to make deco dives to 45m using air and Eanx and O2 on Open circuit Scuba).
b. 18 yrs old.
c. 100 logged dives (20 deeper than 18 m using Eanx/ 15 deeper than 30m (with or without Eanx).

2. Programme:

a. 4 Dives:

1. Dive 1 - Confined Water -Revision on Twin Set and Stage procedures/shut downs/emergency procedures/staging cylinders and recovery/gas switches/run simulated deco schedule etc
ii. Dives 2 - Simulated Deco dive practicing all skills in Dive 1.
iii. Dive 3 - Deco dive to depth range 45 - 50m with two gas switches.
iv. Dive 4- Deco to 45-50m with two gas switches. Tmx permitted with limited conditions.

b. Tec 50 Exam
c. 3 practical applications and 2 knowledge developments

TEC Trimix 65 Qual students to dive to 65m using various Tmx blends with an O2 content of 18% /air/Eanx and O2 using Open Circuit Tec Eqpt.

Course consistes of following:

1. Pre-requisits:

a. Cert as PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent.
b. 18 yrs old.
c. Cert as Tec 50 Diver or equivalent cert from another organisation.
d. 150 logged dives.

2. Programme:

a. Five Dives using TMx as back gas and up to 2 deco gases (Dive 8 depth to 65m).
b. TMx Diver Exam
c. Practical applications and knowledge developments

Timeframe 5 days (dependng on initial student skills)

Cost - £550 (Addt Gas cost)

TEC Trimix 75 Qual students to dive to 75m using various Tmx blends with an O2 content of less than 18% /air/Eanx and O2 using Open Circuit Tec Eqpt.

The pinnacle of DSAT Tec Diving. Covers Tmx diving to a max depth of 75m. Brand new training materials including new workbook. Consists of 5 dives.

Pre-requisites

Padi Rescue Diver or equivalent
DSAT Tec 50 or Tmx 65 or equivalent cert from another agency
Min of 150 logged dives
18 yrs old

Cost - £550 (Addt Gas cost)

In addition we can run:

Discover Tec - An introduction to equipment and procedures and includes 1 dive in confined water.(This can be credited towards the Tec 40 Course) - 1 day

Twin Set Diver Speciality/Tec Basics - A new speciality designed to get divers proficient when diving with twin sets. Covering eqpt and shut down procedures etc. This consists of 2 x confined water sessions and 2 x Open Water Dives. 1/2 days, cost -£250 Pre-requisits PADI Advanced Diver/Nitrox Diver. Min age 18 years.

All dives will be carried out in the sea enviroment, deep water divers will be done either around Donegal or Rathlin,
Boat fees , manuals, certification are all included (Costs do not include Eanx/O2/Tmx fills)

Please note that for Tec Deep Courses and DSAT Trimix diver you will require a completed Diving Medical statement from a Physician stating that you are fit to dive.
